Good to Know!    

• To participate in the activities within Casela Nature Parks or at the Yemen Reserve, which is part of Casela Nature Parks, visitors must enter the Park. Entry tickets to the park are available for purchase along with the aforementioned activities.            
• We recommend and request a minimum 45-minute gap between each activity. This ensures sufficient time to travel between departure points and allows for potential delays. 
• For Safari activities like Safari & Drive Thru to see Lions & Tigers, please arrive at the park at least 45 minutes before the scheduled start time.                    

Transport is available for an additional supplement and will include pick up and drop off from any hotel / place of accommodation in Mauritius.

Additional Info about Casela Nature Parks

The Casela Adventure Park is home to 150 species of birds from 5 different continents, including the lovely long-necked Pink Pigeons which until recently were threatened with extinction. The Pink Pigeons can be seen alongside hundreds of other exotic species from Asia, Australia, Africa and America.

The park includes several thematic worlds, as well as a hub for discovery and learning.

• African Safari: Casela Nature Parks offers several fun ways to get closer to the animals of the African Safari, for example, the zebra bus.
• Predator Kingdom: At the Predator Kingdom, Safari Adventures brings you the best of the Big Cats experiences in Mauritius. This is a unique opportunity for visitors to have once in a lifetime experience. Big Cats encounters include: walking with lions, interaction with cheetah, caracal and serval, and the drive-thru to see tigers and lions in their natural habitat.

• Pangia Kids Park: Pangia Kids Park is a brand new world, full of fun, located in the heart of Casela! For the convenience of the visitors, the park offers facilities such as a restaurant, children's mini-club (games, slides, swings etc), snacks bar and souvenirs shops. 4D Cinema

Petting Farm Animal Feeding 

The Petting Farm at Casela Nature Parks offers an ideal setting for animal lovers of all ages, especially children, to interact with farm animals. Rabbits, fawn and their other friends at the mini farm offer a touching experience.

This is a great way to allow the young ones to learn about animals and get closer to nature while offering an ideal setting for children to interact with farm animals. For the petting farm, a bottle of milk and a bag of feed can be purchased.

Tortoise Feeding

Tortoises have a docile nature, so they are great for kids. These gentle giants can live up to 150 years and love their apple brochettes! Give the kids the opportunity to feed the Aldabra giant tortoise, one of the largest tortoises in the world, at Casela Nature Parks. Kids will learn why it is not nice to hit or tap the back of a tortoise and why to treat the shell with care.

Tortoises are intelligent animals and they can form bonds with humans. Just like we humans, tortoises love some attention as well. Make sure you give them their treat and maybe they would want to pose for a picture with you.

An excited tortoise will move fast towards what has its attention. So if you spot one ‘running’ towards you, you will know it wants to be your friend.

Fish Feeding

Step into the role of an aquatic explorer as you witness firsthand the mesmerizing beauty and vibrant fish. Engage with an array of enchanting species as you feed them in their natural habitat, creating a connection that transcends the surface of the water.

This unique opportunity allows you to observe these graceful beings up close, while gaining a deeper understanding of their behaviors and ecological significance.

Giraffe Feeding

Experience the joy of feeding the tallest animals on earth - the magnificent giraffes, from the palm of your hands. You will also meet Nyota and Kamaria, the two baby giraffes born at the park- a great step for Casela’s conservation Program. Do not hesitate to pose for a selfie with them!

• Please note that giraffe viewing is available between 10.30 - 11.30 & 13.30 -15.30 (except Mondays and Thursdays).
• Giraffe feeding is bookable only at Casela Nature Parks.

Interaction With Big Cats (Caracal / Serval / Cheetah )

• Caracal/ Serval Interaction - 15 minutes with the Caracal/ Serval and their handlers
• Cheetah Interaction - 15 minutes with the Cheetahs and their handlers (Maximum number of participants: 6 per session)

As part of this WIld Cat Interaction, you will get to interact and come face to face with either the Caracal/ Serval or Cheetah - under the supervision of professional guides. You will get to touch them, observe them closely, see how they play and interact between themselves as well as have a chat with the handlers.

About the Caracal: The name Caracal is derived from the Turkish word “karakulak” meaning “black ear.” It is the largest member of Africa’s small cats, and it is most formidable. Often referred to as the desert lynx, the Caracal does not possess the same physical attributes of members of the lynx family, such as the characteristic ruff of hair around the face. Caracal has a short, dense coat, usually a consistent tawny-brown to brick-red, and black individuals have been recorded. Males can weigh as much as 40 pounds, and females as much as 35.

About the Serval: Native to Africa, the Serval is a medium-sized cat with incredibly long legs for its size. If you caught a quick glimpse of it, you’d mistake it for a small cheetah. Its huge ears and short tail, coupled with its spotted fur add to its unique look. Their bite is up to 3 times more forceful than an average housecat. These creatures are very shy, so count this as a very unique experience to get up close.

About the Cheetah: Meet the world’s fastest land animal- the cheetah! These elegant and graceful mammals, part of the Big Cat family, are an endangered species in the African bush. Cheetahs are a unique and specialised member of the cat family. Being the world’s fastest land animal, it can reach tremendous speeds between 80 – 112 km/h (50- 70 mph). This is because, unlike other cats, the cheetah has a leaner body and longer legs. Unlike lions, cheetahs cannot roar, but they purr instead.

• A visitor under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their legal guardian, at all times. The legal guardian shall sign the disclaimer form on behalf of the Minor.

Big Cat Feeding

At the Predator Kingdom, you will get to live one of the best Big Cats experiences in Mauritius - feeding the big cats! This exciting activity brings you one whisker away from the majestic lions. Feel their power and smell their breath whilst you feed them safely from the specially designed enclosure.

This is a unique opportunity for visitors to have once in a lifetime experience. You will be at all times under the watchful eyes of knowledgeable rangers, making your big cat feeding experience something to remember.

Breakfast with Giraffes

Have you come across those fascinating videos on the web of people having breakfast with giraffes? Did you know that you can do so in Mauritius too?

During your breakfast, experience the awe-inspiring, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of feeding magnificent giraffes with your own hands. Giraffes are sweet and gentle and are the perfect companions for breakfast. Make sure to capture the surreal moment with beautiful shots! (Included in this activity is one photo with the giraffes per person.)

The breakfast menu is as follows:

• Giraffes may not be there as the animals are not forced to interact. If it rains, the breakfast will be set up in the safari building.
• The Breakfast with Giraffes is offered every day but bookings need to be made at least 72 hours in advance.

As the Breakfast with Giraffes includes entrance ticket, you can book the activity here. However, if you wish to book other activities, keep in mind that there may be scheduling conflicts.

Interaction With Rhinos

Feel your adrenaline rush as you join our Interaction with the Rhinos, known as one the “Big 5" animals. You will get to come up and close to these huge creatures for a true once-in-a-lifetime experience!

As part of the Rhinos Interaction, you will get to spend an exciting 45 minutes inside the Rhino’s enclosure accompanied by the qualified and enthusiastic rhino’s handlers.

The size and strength of these tough animals becomes abundantly clear as you approach them. You will get to touch them, observe them closely and learn a lot of their behaviour and characteristics from the expert handlers.

• Age Restriction: 10 years and above
• Duration: 45 minutes
• Activity Times: 08:30 (before the park opens and they are released into the safari)
• The Interaction with Rhinos is offered every day but bookings need to be made at least 72 hours in advance.

Drive Thru

Big Cats Lovers, BEHOLD!! The Drive Thru of your life is here!!!!

Reach the Big Cats station and get on board the fenced Safari vehicle to drive through the Nature Reserve, bringing you closer to these amazing Big Cats!

The first stop is to see the Bengal tigers, with their iconic orange colour and dark stripes. But you’d also be pleasantly surprised to know that Casela is home to one of the rarest species of tiger in the world - the impressive white tiger. With its creamy white coat and blue-grey eyes, these majestic beasts will leave you in awe.

It won’t be long before you will come close to the most famous big cat: the Lion. Also known as the king of all animals, lions do a lot of sleeping, but if you are lucky, you will see them striding majestically about their terrain or playing around. 

This is your chance to get some once-in-a-lifetime photographs with the fantastic big cats.

• Activity Time: 10h00 / 11h00 / 13h30 / 14h30 / 15h30
• Duration of the Drive Thru activities: 45 minutes
• Operating Days: All days except Sundays
• The Drive Thru activities offered to participants of all ages.
• There is no contact with the Big cats and you view them only from the safety of a vehicle.

Walking With Lions

This is a one-on-one adventure with the Lions in Mauritius’ unique lion’s park proposed to those who wish to experience the wild side. Upon your arrival to the park, you will be guided in a special safari bus which will take you to the lion’s reserve, followed by a briefing.
After that, you will be introduced to the lions and their handlers to start your 1 hour walking with lion’s excursion where you can view the lions from very close, see them playing and hopping on the rocks of the river banks and scaling the trees.

• Age Restriction: 15 years and above
• Height Restriction: Participants must be above 150cm (1.50m = 4.9 feet)
• Duration: about 1 hour
• Activity Times: 10:00 / 10:30 / 14:00 / 15:30 (activity not offered on Sundays)
• The walk with the lions takes about an hour. Therefore, clients are advised that if booking another activity in the Casela Nature Parks either prior to or after their walk, they should allow for at least 20 minutes shuttle time from each destination.
• A maximum of 12 pax is allowed per session.
• If a client is booking a walk and a Big Cats Interaction, then ideally they should allow for one hour 45 minutes for that activity alone.
• All participants must be physically and mentally capable to perform this particular activity.
• Participants should not have any major hearing or visual impairments.
• The Big Cat keepers have the right to not let a customer participate in the activities if the restrictions are not met.
• Visitors shall sign a disclaimer form before taking part in this activity.
• A visitor under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their legal guardian, at all times. The legal guardian shall sign the disclaimer form on behalf of the Minor.

Quad Biking Adventure

Enjoy one hour of quad-biking in the 4,500 hectares of the Yemen Nature Reserve. The trip starts with test driving the quad before you drive in a group led by experienced guides.

More than a quad bike outing, it is a trip through real wilderness. The quad biking trip allows one to discover the Yemen Reserve whilst observing picturesque views. The course also takes you up the park hills, down some valleys, and across rivers, all while enjoying the great surroundings.

We offer our clients maximum flexibility in choosing their desired vehicle type for this excursion as well as their preferred duration. You can enjoy this amazing experience in Mauritius as an individual or together with your partner - a choice between a single-seated quad for 1 person and a double-seated quad, ideal for 2 people.

• You have to be over 16 years old and a height of at least 1m35 to drive a quad.
• Children above the age of 12 and a height of at least 1m35 can enjoy this activity alongside an adult on a double quad bike.
• An initiation circuit is compulsory so the guides can evaluate the driving capacity of each client. If clients fail the initiation, the client will go on a Quad Bike accompanied by a guide and no refunds will be given.
• Choose either a Single quad (1 person) or Double quad (2 persons)

The Exclusive Quad Biking option guarantees you personal guidance from the accompanying guide, riding at your own pace with no rush or being delayed by others! Or you can up the speed and enjoy a thrilling ride whilst enjoying the scenery.

Safari Eco Rider

Introducing the Safari Eco Rider, an innovative 1-hour tour at Casela Nature Parks that allows you to discover the beauty of African animals against the stunning backdrop of the Rempart mountain. Even if you haven't ridden a bike in years, you can effortlessly navigate the trails with the e-bike's electric motor providing balance during challenging moments.

The Safari Eco Rider is more than just a ride—it's a commitment to reducing carbon footprints during safari adventures. With reduced CO2 emissions and a dedication to the environment, this electric wonder is quiet and animal-friendly, ensuring a harmonious experience. Its intuitive driving and enhanced visibility offer a seamless journey.

Whether standing or seated, the choice is yours. More to that, a child seat is available upon request.

Camel Ride Activities 

Enjoy a fun camel ride at Casela Nature Parks. Comfortably seated on the back of the dromedaries, you will discover the beautiful park and enjoy magnificent surrounding views! A camel ride is an experience that will not be soon forgotten.

For those who just want to get a taste of what it feels like to mount this majestic animal, you can choose the shorter, tamer version– the Paddock Camel Ride!

Relax and enjoy the nonchalant sway of the camels as they slowly stroll - It’s an activity particularly loved by children.

*Suitable clothing should be worn when taking part in the activities- no long dresses. Sunglasses should be removed and suitable footwear should also be worn. Long trousers are recommended for activities involving animal rides 

As part of this day package, you may enjoy lunch at the main restaurant of the park.  You will have a special dining experience in a beautiful environment with the sounds of nature in the background, and breathtaking views over Tamarin Bay and the West Coast of Mauritius.

NOTE: You are requested to book the lunch at least 48 hours prior to the date of the trip

Note: Activity time will be subject to the time slots available at the park. If clients miss their specific time slot booked, there will be no money refund or rescheduling.

Please note that the day schedule should be planned taking into consideration of the following points:

• When choosing/booking activities, it's recommended to select a maximum of 3 to avoid scheduling conflicts, ensuring sufficient time to shuttle in between activities, while considering 'Start' and 'End' times as well as duration.
• The Lion Interaction is not available until further notice.
• You are requested to respect the limitations of each activity (for example, the minimum age to participate in the trip).
• For selected activities, minors (under 18 years old) must be accompanied by an adult to sign their disclaimer form.
• Food and drink are not allowed in the park, and it is strictly forbidden to feed the animals. You may only bring one bottle of water and one packet of biscuits per person; baby food is permitted.
• IMPORTANT NOTE: Foreign Language Clients: Participants should ensure that they understand either English, French or Mauritian Creole, which are the languages used to explain the safety procedures of the activities. Unless clients (who do not understand any of the mentioned languages) provide a translator, they cannot take part in any of the activities that include a safety talk for safety reasons.
• Safari Bus is a complimentary activity offered with the entrance ticket and if missed, there will no refund/rescheduling.

Health & Safety Notes

• Children under 12 years must remain under adult supervision at all times.
• Please do not scream, shout, kick, slap or jump up and down while in close proximity to the animals; it may scare the animals and cause an accident.
• All participants must be physically and mentally capable to perform a particular activity.
• Participants should not have any major hearing or visual impairments. If the health and safety restrictions for your activity are not respected, "NO" refund will be considered. These rules are for your safety.
• Activities are still carried out in rain, and no refunds will be given if a client chooses to not participate. In the event of adverse weather, activities may be rescheduled for security purposes by the Management of the Park.
• All visitors must adhere strictly to any security protocols and directives of the guides, during any controlled interactions with animals, especially before touching and/or approaching any animal.
