Unlike the standard walking with lions activity which is done solely with lions by your side, this special new exciting adventure takes you for a special 1 hour adventure with tigers and lions.
As part of this adventure you will get to interact, play, touch and observe both the tigers and the lions
The walking with tigers & lions is an adventurous activity proposed to those who wish to experience the wild side. This is a remarkable experience opportunity which will be the highlight of your holiday in Mauritius!
On your arrival to the park, you will be guided a special safari bus which will take you to the lions reserve where you could see the lions as well as tigers and cheetahs.
At the lions reserve, the safari team will welcome you and consecutively will brief you with a short introductory chat on both the tigers and the lions and on the safety measures which should be taken during the adventure.
Then after, you will be introduced to the tigers & lions, and also to their handlers before heading to the savanna for your 1 hour walking with the tiger and lions excursion.
Under the coolness of the trees you can take pleasure in viewing the tigers and lions from very close, see them playing and hopping on the rocks of the river banks and scaling the trees. These remarkable animals roam freely amongst you offering a unique opportunity of being in close contact with them.
With the supervision and guidance of the handlers, you can get even closer, and experience from firsthand how it is to walk alongside the tigers and the lions, lead them the way and even you will get to pet them.
You will get to see how the tigers interact with the lions, as well as see them climb trees and even how they feed.
After the walk, refreshments are offered followed by explanations about the reproduction and conservation programs of tigers and lions in Mauritius and South Africa.

Visit of the Mauritius Safari and Bird Park
Important: The Walking with Lions and Tigers is done at the lions park situated at the Mauritius Safari and Bird Park. In order to access the lions park, you have to enter the Mauritius Safari and Bird Park. Accordingly, we offer you to purchase together with the Walking with Lions & Tigers Adventure, also the entry tickets to the park.
About the Safari and Bird Park: The Mauritius Safari and Bird Park is a real animal's sanctuary. It is located besides the Rempart Mountain on the South-West of Mauritius offering magnificent views of the countryside rolling down the west coast of Mauritius.
The visit to the park includes: visit to the Bird Park, visit to the Petting Farm, and access to the many facilities of the park such as the children corner and the restaurant.
The Bird Park is home to 150 species of birds from 5 different continents, including the lovely long necked Pink Pigeons which until recently were threatened with extinction. The Pink Pigeons can be seen alongside hundreds of other exotic species from Asia, Australia, Africa and America.

- The lions park is open every day except on the 25th December and 1st January
- The walking with tigers and lions is offered only for adults (14 years old or above)
- In order to take part in this activity you must be above 150cm (1.50m = 4.9 feet)
- Duration of the entire visit to the park: 3-5 hours
- Duration of the walking with tigers and lions: about 1 hour
- This activity is offered twice a day on these times: 10.30am and 2.00pm
