The National Botanic Garden, formally known as Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanic Garden, is one of the most visited attractions in Mauritius. • Grand Baie Coeur de Ville. Get everything you need at this massive shopping mall, home to a variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options. Don't miss the famous Super U supermarket and its surrounding boutiques.

• Grand Baie Bazaar. The road leading to the bazaar is lined with shops selling souvenirs and clothes. Viewpoint of the Red Church

The Notre Dame Auxiliatrice Church is famous for its lovely red roof, which attracts many curious passers-by and offers a picturesque background for worthy snapshots. This simple church was founded in 1938 and is dedicated to the Virgin Mary.

Interesting tidbit: It is situated at the northernmost point of Mauritius, offering breathtaking views of the 5 northern islets, including Coin de Mire (Gunner’s Quoin).

Mont Choisy Beach

Mont Choisy Beach is situated along the northern coast of Mauritius, a few minutes from Grand Baie. What makes this beach so special is the gentle way the strand of white sand bends around the coast creating a bay of beautiful, turquoise water, lined with casuarina trees. 

Good to know: The entrance to Mont Choisy Beach is guarded by a monument which commemorates the very first manned flight between Mauritius and Reunion Island which took place on September 10, 1933.

Le Capitaine is a popular restaurant serving delicious fish and seafood dishes in a pleasant space that combines style with informality.
