History of the St. François d’Assise Church
With roots dating back to 1743, the St. François d’Assise Church holds a storied past intertwined with the history of Mauritius. Established as the parish of Saint-François de Pamplemousses during the Île de France era, its construction was authorised by Mahé de Labourdonnais, the island's governor.
Completed in 1756, the church is dedicated to Saint François of Assisi, the patron saint of the governor.

- Mass is held on Wednesday at 18:00, Friday at noon, Saturday at 16:00, Sunday at 08:00 and 11:00 every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month in English.
