This full day Canyoning excursion is done at the Exil Waterfalls, and is offering a combination of nature hike, abseils in waterfalls, jumps into water ponds, river butt-riding and river walks.
Situated on the southern slopes of the island on the outskirts of the Combo forest, the Exil canyon sits on the Savanna River and is surrounded by tropical forests. This is why the Exil waterfalls canyoning trip offers a unique way of discovering Mauritius nature, fauna and flora while combining this with the thrilling experience of canyoning.
The Exil canyon has a fair level of water all year round, and high water levels during periods of heavy rainfall, turning the canyon and the river into an ideal place for a great aquatic adventure.

From the hills of the Exil reserve you will see the Rivière Savanne, and have a fantastic panorama view on the beautiful Combo nature park and of Mauritius’ South east coast.
The canyon consists of two main waterfalls, the first is the Leon waterfall, a 20m drop into a 25m wide pool, and the second is the Cascade Cecile, which is of 45m drop. Along the river there are various water pools and a few possible jumps.
After the last abseil, you will enjoy an easy hike to the end point which takes about 10 minutes to complete.
The Exil canyoning excursion includes light BBQ Sandwich lunch which is served at the Exil loge situated on the top of a hill, overlooking the Riviere Savanne Park. The setting for the lunch is ideal as it is intimately set in a pleasant environment lulled by the songs of birds and the waterfalls.
