About the Trip to Ile Aux Cerfs Island with Lunch

Your day begins with a short and scenic 15-minute boat ride across the lagoon. Within minutes of leaving the shore, the water begins to change colour — from deep blue to that bright, almost unreal turquoise Mauritius is known for.  

As Île aux Cerfs comes into view, you’ll see long stretches of white sand, rows of palm trees, and that wide open lagoon that looks calm even from a distance. This is the moment most people pause to take a photo - and then quickly realise no photo really does it justice.

Once on the island, there’s no strict schedule. Walk barefoot along the shoreline. Slip into the lagoon and feel how warm and clear the water is. Float. Swim. Snorkel. Tan. Or do absolutely nothing at all - which, for many travellers, becomes the best part of the day.

Around midday, you’ll head to Sands Grill Restaurant for your included set-menu lunch. You sit down, cool off in the shade, and enjoy a delicious lunch just steps from the beach.

You’ll also receive a drinks package (1L water + 1 soft drink or 1 local beer). And if you’re in the mood for more, there’s an optional 2-hour all-inclusive beverage package available during lunch.When you’re ready to return, simply take one of the regular boat transfers back to the departure point. By the time you step back onto the mainland, you’ll feel relaxed, sun-kissed, and satisfied - the kind of feeling that comes from spending a day exactly how a Mauritius island day should be spent.

Good to Know: Parasailing is available at an additional charge - and seeing Île aux Cerfs from above is something many guests say becomes one of their favourite memories of the island.

About Île aux Cerfs

Despite its name, which translates to “Island of the Deer,” there are no deer living on Île aux Cerfs today. The name dates back to the 17th century, when Dutch settlers introduced deer to Mauritius. Covering approximately 87 hectares, the island is one of the larger lagoon islands off the East Coast and is surrounded by crystal-clear waters protected by coral reefs.

The island is also home to one of Mauritius’ most renowned golf courses, the Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club, designed by two-time Masters champion Bernhard Langer.

• Boat transfers to/from Ile aux Cerfs are offered from 09:30 to 17:30 during May to October and 09:30 - 18:00 during November to April. The boat transfers to Ile aux Cerfs are available every 30 minutes. Accordingly, you benefit from maximum flexibility on the exact time you can start/end the tour.
• Parasailing can be arranged at an additional charge during your visit to Ile aux Cerfs. Kindly note that this activity is not available on Saturdays.
• Sunbeds are subject to availability.
• If a guest chooses not to fully enjoy or complete the package experience for any reason, a 100% cancellation fee will be charged.

Transport is available for an extra fee, with pick-up and drop-off from any accommodation in Mauritius.

How is the Transportation Fare calculated?

For transportation not included as part of the tour, the fare is calculated based on the set activity duration, the distance between your accommodation and the activity location (round trip).

Transport Payment

The payment for transportation is divided into two parts:

"Deposit": Payable at the time of booking, alongside your activity reservation. This deposit covers a portion of the total transportation fare.

"Amount Due to Driver": The remaining balance is payable in cash directly to the driver on the day of the activity. This final amount is calculated by subtracting the deposit from the total transportation cost.
