Piton du Canot mountain Hike – Half Day hiking including a picnic lunch:
The path to the summit of Piton du Canot Mountain starts from Chamarel village up a slope through the woods leading to the summit. The path is relatively short and the ascent can be accomplished within 45 minutes as there are no technically difficult parts along the path.
This peak of Piton du Canot ends the Black River mountains chain. When reaching the summit a path runs along a ridge with a wonderful views on both sides. On the right, towards the South-West coast, you will see a beautiful view overlooking the lagoon, and on the left you can see the Island of Ile aux Benitiers.
The hike will continue further south, towards the Southern region and you will get to see a great view of the valley of Chamarel.
Then heading on a path leading down from the summit towards the west. This path continues along the ridge towards Petit Moka and Montagne La Porte until heading back to Chamarel.
The hike will end with a complementary picnic lunch.
