Your wonderful adventure begins at Pointe des Régates. Stroll along the waterfront while chatting and learning about the rich history of this breathtakingly beautiful area. You will have the opportunity to stop at various local restaurants and street food stalls to savour Mauritian dishes, some are typical of Mahébourg.

On the way, you will meet a resident of the village and taste one of the favourite street foods of the Mahebourgeois, and sip a refreshing tropical drink to quench your thirst. You'll continue this beautiful adventure by getting to know each other while discovering the ruins of an old train station: a reminder of the golden age of the sugar industry.

Next stop: a cosy family restaurant that serves a special dish, unique in the village of Mahebourg!

Why Mahebourg?

Mahebourg is one of the oldest villages on the island, going back to the early Dutch and French periods. In fact, the coastal village was named after an important historical figure in Mauritius. Its lagoon is also the site of the historic naval battle between the British and the French.

Mahébourg has preserved much of its authenticity and beauty with its old traditional houses still standing, its welcoming streets filled with sympathetic faces and its local restaurants serving food typical and unique to this region.

• Each child under 10 years should be accompanied by an adult.
• Children under the age of 18 will not be authorised to participate in any rum or other alcohol tasting.
• Clients are advised to be at the meeting point 5 minutes before departure time. Out of respect for others, the guide will not wait over 15 minutes for latecomers.
• There will be no refund for missed tours or activities

• Please communicate any allergies, medical conditions or any other condition that may impact your participation.
• The tour will take place as scheduled, regardless of the weather; unless otherwise advised by the relevant authorities.
• Please note that Vegetarian, Vegan & Gluten-free options are not available. As for Pescatarians, you are requested to inform us beforehand.
• The walking distance is approximately 3km.
• Non-white clothes and comfortable shoes are recommended.
• The Client shall be informed of any change in route or tour, prior to departure time.
• Any changes made during the tour, due to unforeseen circumstances or bad weather, shall not result in a refund.
• Transport to the meeting point is not included in the price.
