Note:*The activities will depend on the age and if the animals are available.

Important: The Zookeeper for a Day Activity is offered to those aged between 4-14 years old. Entrance tickets are not included for accompanying adults. 

Transport is available for an additional supplement and will include pick up and drop off from any hotel / place of accommodation in Mauritius.

Day Program of the Zookeeper Kids Package

• 08:45 - Meet at the entrance of “Casela Nature Park” + Filling and signing the consent form, Welcome and presentation of the park + Safety rules + Distribution of a “Zookeeper” T -Shirt
• 09:00 - Activities in the park
• 10:30 - Snack break (Water/Juice/Biscuit)
• 10:45 - Activities in the park
• 12:00 - Lunch break + Summary of the day (knowledge acquired, emotions felt, etc)
• 13:00 - Activities in the park
• 14:00 - End of the activity and return to the park entrance

Zookeeper for a Day - Kids Package at Casela Nature Parks

It is hard to please everyone on a family holiday, especially kids!

At Casela Nature Parks, parents will not have to worry as the unique Zookeeper for a Day activity will surely keep the children busy and happy for hours. This activity promises to make kids enjoy a day full of fun activities with animals while educating them about the different ways of caring for and protecting animals.

This is very much a hands-on experience which will give the children an insight into the amazing amount of work that goes on behind the scenes at Mauritius only Safari and Bird Park.

Welcoming little Zookeeper - On arrival at Casela Nature Parks, you will be warmly greeted by the staff members, followed by a presentation on the park by your zookeeper host of the day. The latter will also provide you with a briefing on the day’s activities and on the essential safety rules. You will also be presented with a T -Shirt entitled “Zookeeper for a day” which you will wear during the day and be more inspired in the shoes of a zookeeper.

A Day in the Life - Throughout the entire day, the little ones will be busy having direct encounters with the friendly animals of the park and taking care of these fuzzy friends. From food preparation to distribution and observation of animals, this enriching programme teaches them how to care for animals whilst spending time in a biodiverse environment.

Need a break? Take a pause and replenish your energy with a light snack which consists of biscuits,juice,and water. After a busy morning getting up close with wildlife, budding zookeepers can enjoy a tasty lunch served between 12:00 to 13:00. Wrap up your day with a summary of your experience and a group photo session as a special reminder of your enriching day.

This day package is all about discovering the amazing African Savannah of Mauritius in a unique way. You will leave with lots of interesting, new knowledge and memories to cherish forever.

Note: Only light snacks and drinks are allowed inside the park. If you plan to purchase food onsite, please communicate any special dietary requests or allergies at least 5 days before your activity date.

• Minimum Number of Participants: 2 pax
• Maximum Number of Participants: 7 pax
• A reservation must be done at least 72 hours in advance
• You must arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the activity, otherwise a 100% cancellation fee will apply.
• The Zookeeper for a Day Activity is offered to Kids (4-12 years old) and Teens (13-14 years old). While booking the child’s full name and age must be mentioned.
• Parents/ Guardians will need to fill an administrative form. Entrance tickets are not included for accompanying adults.
• Please note that giraffe viewing is available between 10.30 -15.30 (except Mondays and Thursdays).
• Giraffe feeding is bookable only at Casela Nature Parks.
• The 4D cinema is not available until further notice.
• IMPORTANT NOTE: Foreign Language Clients: Participants should ensure that they understand either English, French or Mauritian Creole, which are the languages used to explain the safety procedures of the activities. Unless clients (who do not understand any of the mentioned languages) provide a translator, they cannot take part in any of the activities that include a safety talk for safety reasons.

Health & Safety Notes

• Each participant must strictly respect the safety instructions and the rules of Casela Nature Parks. In case of non-compliance to the instructions, the Management reserves the right to stop the activity at any time without refund.
• Please do not scream, shout, kick, slap or jump up and down while in close proximity to the animals; it may scare the animals and cause an accident.
• All participants must be physically and mentally capable to perform a particular activity.
• Participants should not have any major hearing or visual impairments.
• If any of the above is found incorrect on the day of your activity "NO" refund will be considered. These rules are for your safety.
• Activities are still carried out in rain, and no refunds will be given if a client chooses to not participate. In the event of adverse weather, activities may be rescheduled for security purposes by the Management of the Park.
