Route 1 - Le Morne Brabant Eco Green Bike Tour

Ever wondered why Le Morne features as one of the Cultural heritage site of the UNESCO?

Then you are invited to explore the majestic Le Morne Brabant which symbolises freedom in the history of Mauritius. The mountain stands tall at 556m high, adding an extra beauty to the natural setting.

Join this Eco friendly electro-bike trip to feel the authentic sensation of exploring beautiful scenery, the wilderness and the typical cultural coastal villages of Mauritius.

The starting point of your ride starts from “Place du Moulin” in Bel Ombre which is a restored sugar factory designed by Jean-François Adam, a renowned Mauritian architect.

You will then head towards Baie du Cap beach, an authentic fishing village for a quick stopover and then ride to the Baie du Cap bridge, where you will stop to view a monument erected in the name of Captain Matthew Flinders, a successful navigator and cartographer who circumnavigated Australia and encouraged the use of that name for the continent.

The ride resumes in the direction of la Prairie where you will be served delicious Mauritian coconut water. After the chilled refreshment, you will move towards the picturesque fishing village of Le Morne where you can take a 15-minute break to taste the famous ‘rotis’ made by the locals of the village.

Eventually, you will ride down a charming dirt road that weaves its way through the undergrowth and end your ride at the parking lot, opposite the Slave Route monument.

Morning Route:

Route 2 – Chamarel Region Eco Green Bike Tour

Have a pleasant ride with the electro bike and explore the genuine facets of the island, stumble across the historical monuments, the typical fishing villages and its people, and experience the taste and fragrance of the seven coloured village!

The ride begins in the mountains at “Terre des 7 Couleurs” restaurant with a tasting of local coffee, while enjoying a fantastic scenery views.

Head to the St. Anne Chapel, which is surrounded by luxurious coffee fields. The church was built in 1876, and is subject to a pilgrimage on the Assumption of Mary (August 15), during which the village host a fair associated with the pilgrimage.

You will visit several historical landmarks before going to the well-known Chamarel waterfall and to the Seven Coloured Earth of Chamarel, a dramatic geological formation created by volcanic rocks. The soil is of unusual nature since they are found in different shades of colours due to the decomposition process. You will experience the glowing hillsides of red, violet, green, blue, purple and many other colours!

You will then head over to La Vieille Cheminée (Old Chimney), an old sugar factory in the area, before descending the small Fantasy Mountain, peaking at 240m.

Afterwards you will go in the direction of the unique Baie du Cap village with the picturesque land and seascapes, encompassing the red coloured earth, the deep green forest, line of palm trees, and the sparkling blue sea by the side- all of which gives you an incredible sensation of enjoying your ride.

You can definitely pick up some local speciality snacks before reaching the Australian shipwreck commemorative monument. The excursion finishes at the “Place du Moulin” in Bel Ombre where you can enjoy a stroll and buy some local souvenirs.
