*The activities will depend on the age and if the animals are available.

Important: The Zookeeper for a Day Activity is offered to those aged 4-14 years old. Entrance tickets are not included for accompanying adults. 

Transport is available for an additional supplement and will include pick up and drop off from any hotel / place of accommodation in Mauritius.

• 08:45 - Meet at the entrance of Casela Nature Parks + Fill and sign the consent form + Welcome and presentation of the park + Safety rules + Distribution of a “Zookeeper” t-shirt
• 09:00 - Activities in the park
• 10:30 - Snack break (water/juice/biscuit)
• 10:45 - Activities in the park
• 12:00 - Lunch break + summary of the day (knowledge acquired, emotions felt, etc)
• 13:00 - Activities in the park
• 14:00 - End of the activity and return to the park entrance

Junior Zookeeper Experience at Casela Nature Parks

It is hard to please everyone on a family holiday, especially kids! But the Zookeeper for a Day activity promises to make kids enjoy a day of fun activities with animals while educating them about the different ways of protecting and caring for them. Here's how it goes:

Welcoming the Little Zookeeper - Upon arrival at Casela Nature Parks, kids will be warmly greeted by staff and introduced to the day’s activities by their dedicated zookeeper host. They’ll also receive a special “Zookeeper for a Day” T-shirt to wear, helping them step into the role and feel like real zookeepers. A safety briefing will ensure they’re ready for the exciting day ahead.

A Day in the Life - Throughout the entire day, the little ones will be busy having direct encounters with the friendly animals of the park and taking care of these fuzzy friends. From food preparation to distribution and observation of animals, this enriching programme teaches them how to care for animals whilst spending time in a biodiverse environment.

Time for a Break - After a busy morning, children will enjoy a light snack of biscuits, juice, and water. A delicious lunch is also included, served between 12:00 and 13:00, giving them the energy to keep exploring and learning.

A Memorable Finale - The day wraps up with a group photo and a reflection session, where kids can share what they’ve learned and take home memories of this unique experience in the heart of Mauritius' African Savannah.

 As part of the Zookeeper for a Day package, little explorers will get to enjoy the following:

• Minimum Number of Participants: 2 pax
• Maximum Number of Participants: 7 pax
• Reservation must be done at least 72 hours in advance.
• You must arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the activity, otherwise a 100% cancellation fee will apply.
• The Zookeeper for a Day Activity is offered to Kids (4-12 years old) and Teens (13-14 years old). While booking the child’s full name and age must be mentioned.
• Parents/ Guardians will need to fill an administrative form.
• Please note that giraffe viewing is available between 10.30 and 15.30 (except Mondays and Thursdays).
• Giraffe feeding is bookable only at Casela Nature Parks.
• The 4D cinema is not available until further notice.
• Only light snacks and drinks are allowed inside the park. If you plan to purchase food onsite, please communicate any special dietary requests or allergies at least 5 days before your activity date.
• Entrance tickets for accompanying adults are not included and must be purchased separately. These grant access to the park but do not allow parents/guardians to join the kids' zookeeper activity.

Health & Safety Notes

• Each participant must strictly respect the safety instructions and the rules of Casela Nature Parks. In case of non-compliance to the instructions, the Management reserves the right to stop the activity at any time without refund.
• Please do not scream, shout, kick, slap or jump up and down while in close proximity to the animals; it may scare the animals and cause an accident.
• All participants must be physically and mentally capable to perform a particular activity.
• Participants should not have any major hearing or visual impairments.
• If any of the above is found incorrect on the day of your activity "NO" refund will be considered. These rules are for your safety.
• Activities are still carried out in rain, and no refunds will be given if a client chooses to not participate. In the event of adverse weather, activities may be rescheduled for security purposes by the Management of the Park.
• IMPORTANT NOTE: Participants should ensure that they understand either English, French or Mauritian Creole, which are the languages used to explain the safety procedures of the activities. Unless clients (who do not understand any of the mentioned languages) provide a translator, they cannot take part in any of the activities that include a safety talk for safety reasons.
