Ziplines Excursion

Ziplines excursion in the south of Mauritius at River Galets.

An escapade in Nature - The zipline excursion involves a bit of trekking, bathing in clear waters and especially spectacular glides along ziplines; the longest of them is 250 meters long! You will begin this adventure with a nice trek amidst nature, watch out for endemic trees, monkeys, deers as you make your way towards the ziplines. Along the trip there is a nice break by the river, where you can freshen up in the natural clear water pool, enjoy a swim in the river or under the waterfall and dive from the top of rocks into the natural pond.

Fly over lush green views - A unique and exhilarating zipline (Tyroliennes) excursion in the very south of Mauritius. This is the ideal activity for adventure and nature lovers and for those who have wished to experience flying like a bird. You will get to discover the beautiful scenery of the “Rivière des Galets”, its banks and forests, and its numerous waterfalls hidden amidst banana plantations and sugar-cane fields.Connected to ziplines you will fly over the river of “Rivière des Galets”, above trees and rocks, and discover the beautiful fauna, flora and landscapes of the rain forests of the south of Mauritius, doing so in the most original and exciting way.

The Ziplines - You will glide along 6 ziplines in a total, covering a length of about 1.5km of ziplines cables!!! Each zipline, varying in length, height and speed offers you to discover a unique and different landscape.The smallest zipline measures 60 meters while the longest measures 250 meters!!! The altitudes of the ziplines above the ground vary from 20 meters to 40 meters.Children and adults are surprisingly taken by the excitement and adrenaline that comes naturally when you start flying, especially on the first time.So scream it out!! You don’t get to feel fresh crisp air fill your lungs everyday.

WALKING WITH LIONS AT CASELA NATURE PARKS

As part of Casela Nature Parks, the Predator Kingdom, found in Yemen Nature Reserve, welcomes people to experience a thrilling moment with the Big Cat - the Lion. You will learn about, watch and walk with these incredible creatures, a lifetime experience indeed. For the brave hearts out there, this package is for you, to walk alongside your equals in bravery. So get ready for an epic moment of your life.

Let the Safari Begin - On your arrival to the park, you will be guided to a special safari bus which will take you to the lions reserve where you could see the lions as well as tigers and cheetahs. At the lions reserve, the safari team will welcome you and consecutively will brief you with a short introductory chat on the lions and on the safety measures which should be taken during the adventure and the time you will spend with the lions.

Time for the Feline Encounter - Once the keeper and Rangers are done with the brief, it is time for you to meet your majestic host in its natural enclosure. You will feel like walking in the African desert, sun shining bright over your head and a building excitement about seeing the lions up close. For one hour, you will be walking around the park next to this majestic animal, a surreal moment that could well be a movie scene from Narnia. You will get to pet your lion as well.

A walk to remember - While walking with your lion, you will get to discover the amazing place where those creatures live. See them walk around, laze on the grass, enjoying a nap, play with each other, hopping on the rocks on the river banks and scaling the trees. Your rangers and keepers will also elaborate on the reproduction and conservation program for your newly made fur-buddies.

Casela Nature Parks

• Please note that the Tulawaka rollercoaster is currently undergoing maintenance work and will not be operational until June 2023.
• Access will not be granted without presentation of a ticket or voucher.
• You are requested to arrive at the park 45 minutes before your activity time.
• Visitors shall sign a disclaimer form before taking part in the ‘Walking with Lions’ activity.
• A visitor under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their legal guardian, at all times. The legal guardian shall sign the disclaimer form on behalf of the Minor.
• Food & Drink are not allowed inside the Parks
• IMPORTANT NOTE: Foreign Language Clients: Participants should ensure that they understand either English, French or Mauritian Creole, which are the languages used to explain the safety procedures of the activities. Unless clients (who do not understand any of the mentioned languages) provide a translator, they cannot take part in any of the activities that include a safety talk for safety reasons.

Health & Safety Notes

• The walking with lions encounters is offered only for adults (15 years old or above)
• In order to take part in this activity you must be above 150cm (1.50m = 4.9 feet)
• All visitors must adhere strictly to any security protocols and directives of the guides, during any controlled interactions with animals, especially before touching and/or approaching any animal.
• Please do not scream, shout, kick, slap or jump up and down while in close proximity to the animals; it may scare the animals and cause an accident.
• All participants must be physically and mentally capable to perform a particular activity.
• Participants should not have any major hearing or visual impairments. If the health and safety restrictions for your activity are not respected, "NO" refund will be considered. These rules are for your safety.
• The Big Cat keepers have the right to not let a customer participate in the activities if the restrictions are not met.
• If any of the above is found incorrect on the day of your activity "NO" refund will be considered. These rules are for your safety.
• Activities are still carried out in rain, and no refunds will be given if a client chooses to not participate. In the event of adverse weather, activities may be rescheduled for security purposes by the Management of the Park.
