SALT of Palmar is a unique eco-friendly adults-only boutique hotel located on the splendid beach of Palmar. When designer Camille Walala saw the Mauritian bright blue skies, pink sunsets, green sugarcane fields, and the explosion of diverse paint colours used to decorate the houses in the village, it was love at first sight. She was full of inspiration when she collaborated with local architecture studio JFA on the design of SALT of Palmar. Camille’s bold style meets Mauritius’ soulful style. And with local makers creating the furniture, art, and finer details, the Mauritian influence comes through loud and clear. It makes the boutique hotel completely unique. It’s inspiring. And it’s a very happy place to be.

Rest in a beautifully designed, SALT of Palmar room overlooking the sea, garden or pool. Each of the rooms are kitted out with only the finest of things including Carpe Diem beds, hand-crafted in Sweden in collaboration with acclaimed physiotherapists, so you get the best sleep. You will also get to enjoy 100% organic cotton bedding, a yoga mat and block, a Roberts radio and all-natural, locally produced toiletries.

The Garden View Rooms vary from 33.6 m2 to 37.3 m2 while offering a stunning view on the filao trees on the beach. Savour a moment of relaxation on your terrace or balcony while observing the splendid turquoise lagoon beyond.

Sea View

The Sea view rooms vary from 30.3 m2 to 37.3m2 and are a few steps from the pool. You're only seconds away from the sea and the pool. It's a blessing every day. Get a refreshing swim around noon or take a serious lounger session.

Bang On Beach

The Bang on Beach rooms vary from 30.7 m2 to 33.6 m2 and are above the beach’s pristine sand facing east onto the turquoise lagoon. The sound of the lapping waves will bring you to the top of relaxation, thus a good night of sleep, where the sun is going to rise right before you.

Pool Plus

The Pool Plus is 47.1 m2 and offers big enough space for additional beds whether needed to bring more comfort. The room offers a stunning view and overlooks the pool, the beach and the sea from guests’ private balconies.

Best On Beach

The Best on Beach offers breathtaking ocean views for the spacious terrace or balcony. The room has enough space to accommodate both parents and kid and comprises 2 roof tops for additional spectacular views and comfort.

SALT of Palmar has only one main restaurant which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant offers a buffet.

BYE - BYE BUFFET

The restaurant offers fresh, local, and tasty foods. SALT of Palmar knows the names of their farmers, fishermen, and growers, that is why their ingredients are their stars. SALT of Palmar has a herb wall and a vegetable cellar that depicts their abundance. In the kitchen, they look for simple, ancient cooking methods.

The wok, the tandoor oven and the charcoal grill are the trinity of SALT of Palmar and they tend to smoke anything and everything to release and enhance the flavour of their food.They also marinate and slow cook their foods for hours over wood overnight.

For the dishes, they offer Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and our local flavours, but they are open to create and clients are free to join them in the kitchen anytime.

THE ROOFTOP BAR

The rooftop bar overlooking the ocean is the perfect, relaxed aperitivo spot. There’s a dreamy selection of cocktails crafted by the bartenders who were inspired by the mountains of the island. Why the mountains? Because, quite frankly, the bar’s rooftop views are something else

Palmar is located on the eastern coast of Mauritius in the district of Flacq and is less than one hour from the international airport and a few mins away from the commercial area of central Flacq. Palmar is situated about 48 km east of Port Louis the Capital of Mauritius and the drive takes around 1 hour.

The popular island Ile aux Cerfs lies nearby and is one of the most beautiful attractions in Mauritius thanks to its stunning lagoon and exotic flora and fauna, making it well-worth a visit.

Palmar beach is one of the most beautiful beaches of Mauritius with its white and pristine sand and is one of the longest beaches in Mauritius. The beach starts at Belle Mare village and stretches all the way south till the village of Trou dÈau Douce, while passing through the famous Palmar beach. It’s known for calm waters as there is a great deep lagoon that runs between the shoreline and the beach. Because of its length, the beach of Belle Mare and Palmar are perfectly suited for sport and water activities.
