Villa Mermaid is part of a group of 4 identical bungalows and offers 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a surface area of 270 square meters.

It is a rustically furnished bungalow situated 1 km from Grand Bay center, on the exclusive Merville Bay at Pereybere.

This is the primest location in the Grand Bay area and the bungalow has immediate access to the world renowned Merville beach which is one of the very rare beaches in Mauritius with no public access.

Swimming is very pleasant and totally secure in the truly exceptional lagoon. This bungalow is particularly suited for families with young children.

The rental prices of this bungalow, which can accommodate 8 adults plus one baby, are tailored to enable our residents to access an exceptional setting for a very reasonable budget.

All conceivable tourist attractions and nautical activities are available in the immediate area. A multitude of restaurants, shops, two supermarkets, one hypermarket are within 1 km away.

Villa Mermaid, located on the north of the island on the exclusive Merville Bay (Pereybere), 1 km from Grand Bay, offers a personalized service in a spacious, enjoyable and secured environment.

The sea plays a masterful role for leisure purposes in Grand Bay village. There are several beautiful public beaches in the area: - those of Pereybere, Mon Choisy, Trou aux Biches and Pointe aux Canonniers; where you can swim or lounge on the sand under the sun and enjoy the most beautiful lagoons of Mauritius.

A range of water sports awaits you in the area, including windsurfing, scuba diving and water skiing, or walking under the sea for those who love the thrill.

It is impossible not to notice the iconic island Gunners Quoin which stands proudly in the sea. You can visit Flat Island and Gabriel Island, the famous offshore Islands of the North of Mauritius, by making a day cruise on a catamaran to those islands, with barbecue and drinks included in the price.

In Grand Bay center, you will find Sunset Boulevard, a small classy shopping complex, Grand Bay market where you can buy local handicrafts and souvenirs. Five minutes’ walk from the villa takes you to the Supermarket Winners where you can do your shopping.

Many sport fishing boats await you in Sunset Boulevard, the area is renowned for sport fishing of marlin, dorado and tuna. If you rent the Mermaid Villa and you have to procure supplies, Winners supermarket a few hundred meters will be your first port of call. Otherwise try Store 2000 which is a few hundred meters further, or the hypermarket Super U in Grand Bay center or La Croisette which is right at the Grand Bay entrance by the motorway.

Villa Mermaid is part of a group of 4 semi-detached beachfront bungalows, belonging to the same family and located on the exclusive Merville beach, in Pereybere, 1 km from Grand Bay center. This beach has no public access.

The living room includes a seating area and a dining area with brown and gray shades. The color of the antique desk to the right of the stairs blends perfectly with other atypical furniture of the room.

The living room, both simple and elegant, is on the left of the stairs and has a large sofa, a Balinese style armchair, a lamp, a coffee table, a dark wood sideboard and a flat-screen TV. Paintings made by famous local artists soothe this comfortable room and contribute to the elegance and simplicity of the welcoming atmosphere.

The dining table, in dark teak, seating eight persons is located in front of the terrace and adjoins the living room. Behind the living room a staircase leads to the first floor which is home to four bedrooms, two of which have sea views.

Bedroom No. 1 (master room), in a marine and casual style, consists of a wardrobe and a wooden double bed with a bedspread decorated with shell-shaped designs. The en-suite bathroom has a shower and a W/C. The outstanding feature of the room is undoubtedly the terrace where you can enjoy romantic moments admiring the sunset. The room is air conditioned.

Bedroom No. 2 opens onto a terrace with a sea view. It is furnished in tropical style with a double bed and matching wardrobe. The lamps and a colorful prints in bright colors bring a playful touch to the room. The bathroom and W/C are in the corridor and are shared with rooms No. 3 and 4. The room is air conditioned.

Bedroom No. 3, with garden views, is decorated with modern art, bedside tables and with a double bed. It shares the bathroom and W/C with Rooms No.2 and 4. The room is air conditioned.

Bedroom No. 4, adorned with replicas of Picasso, has a matching double bed and wardrobe. It shares the bathroom and W/C of rooms No.2 and 3. The room is air conditioned.

Villa Mermaid has a beautiful fully furnished terrace. It is an ideal setting to relax after a swim or snorkeling in the magnificent lagoon, or to share a barbecue with family and friends.

The garden is studded with coconut trees A large wooden table and a few chairs allow you to relax outdoors or enjoy a suntan after having had a good dip in the sea and a walk on the private beach.

The owner lives nearby and will personally welcome you. He will be happy to help, to advise you about the excursions to do in the area and will see to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

The lounge opens on a terrace of 7m x 4 m and is equipped with a flat-screen LCD TV with satellite channels. It is furnished with a sofa, armchairs and a coffee table. The living room also has wooden security shutters. The dining room has a table and chairs for 8 persons.

Kitchen

The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove with 4 gas burners including a 90 cm oven, a hood, a refrigerator, a freezer, a microwave oven, and all appliances and household equipment needed, two stainless steel sinks, a dishwasher with a capacity of 8 cutlery and crockery for 8 persons.

Covered terrace

A nice covered terrace with chairs and sofas for 8 persons and a dining table for 8 opens directly onto the garden. Beautiful views of the beach and of the lagoon.

Laundry

A separate and fully equipped laundry room, with a washing machine, a dryer, an iron and an ironing board and also a medicine cabinet.

The master bedroom is open onto a balcony with beautiful views of the lagoon. It includes a double bed, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, a washbasin and a separated W/C. The room is air conditioned.

Staff of Mermaid Villa

The housekeeper, Sarita, is enchanted to take care of the bungalow’s guests. She arrives at 9h00 am and ends her day at 13h00 pm from Monday to Saturday, with the exception of bank holidays. She expresses herself in both French and English. She takes care of the maintenance of the house and does the laundry. Her task does not include ironing the guests’ clothes.

The cook, Lia, is happy to introduce you to some great delicious Mauritian dishes. She works the same hours as Sarita and prepares breakfast and one meal per day, a lunch OR a pre-cooked dinner. Purchasing groceries is your responsibility.

The gardener, Coonee, works in the morning and he is bilingual (English and French speaking). If you have questions about the garden or the villa, do not hesitate to contact him.

Their services are included in the price. Tipping is discretionary. We recommend € 5 per day per person.
