Now, let’s peep into the ‘history and setting up’ of Vanilla House: The Guest house is the fruit of the collaboration between Didier de Senneville and Nathalie Staub, two Mauritians from French descent. Their ancestors emigrated from France in the 18th century. Having fallen in love with Mauritius, their families settled to never leave the Mauritian shores again. Didier and Nathalie as well as their staff know all the secret wonders that the Island has to offer, and are most enthusiastic to share them with you.

This small yet splendid guesthouse displays a very authentic style in terms of architecture. Vanilla House’s modern air-conditioned rooms have a terrace which allows guests to enjoy breathtaking views of the wild vegetation around. A tropical landscaped and spacious garden with a sandy walkway is also available for guests to chill out during their free time. Moreover, a delicious buffet breakfast is served daily in the dining room or the outside furnished seating areas where guests would be most comfortable and feel the fresh air of the morning. Wi-Fi is free to enjoy in the guest house.

Vanilla House also caters for the relaxation as well as entertainment of its valued guests. The latter can both get a therapeutic massage indoor or chill and read a book or a magazine in the library. One can also do some activities such as biking as the hotel offers free bike hire. Several golf courses which can be a very good option for relaxation are located in the region. The guesthouse can also cater for families with younger children: There are 4 units with communicating rooms available:

• All children under 2 years stay free of charge for children's cots/cribs.

• The maximum number of children's cots/cribs in a room is 1.
• Any type of extra bed or child's cot/crib is upon request and needs to be confirmed by management.

Vanilla House benefits from having at close proximity the lovely little restaurant 'Vanilla Bean'. Residents of Tamarin and Black River enjoy the delicious meals prepared with great care by Nathalie and her daughter Coralie. Vanilla Bean offers a variety of scrumptious balanced meals to be enjoyed in a serene atmosphere under the large acacia trees. You can sip on a refreshing trade mark ice tea listening to the birds chirping around.
