About the Blue Safari Submarine
Located in Trou aux Biches, Blue Safari offers a rare and enjoyable way to explore Mauritius’ underwater world - inside a real submarine, with no swimming required. As the only leisure submarine operator in the Indian Ocean, it provides a calm and comfortable dive to 35 metres deep.
During the trip, you’ll see colourful fish, corals, sea turtles and the well-known Star Hope shipwreck. It’s a gentle and accessible experience that gives you a closer look at the marine life normally seen only by divers.
The Blue Safari Submarines
Blue Safari operates two small-capacity submarines, making the experience more personal and relaxed. Both submarines are air-conditioned and equipped with individual viewing windows. A camera on the bridge also shows live footage on a screen inside the cabin.
The submarines follow strict international safety standards and are maintained by an experienced technical team, ensuring a safe and smooth dive for guests of all ages.
BS1100 - 10-Seater Submarine
The BS1100 offers comfortable, aircraft-style seating with clear views from every window. During the dive, it brings you to the Star Hope shipwreck, an area known for its diverse marine life.
This submarine provides a calm and family-friendly way to explore the underwater world, with a smooth descent and a relaxed viewing experience suitable for all ages.
BS 600 - 5 seater submarine
The BS600 offers a more private setting, ideal for couples, small families or anyone wanting a quieter experience. Its large front window provides a wide and clear view of the ocean floor.
Depending on conditions, the BS600 explores the Star Hope wreck or another nearby reef area.
Blue Safari Submarine - Activity Description:
Your outing begins with a boat transfer to the offshore platform where the submarine is stationed. Once aboard, the pilot guides you through the dive, and an intercom system facilitates easy communication.
As you descend, you’ll observe different fish species, coral formations and the peaceful underwater landscape. The atmosphere is calm and soothing, making it enjoyable even for those new to underwater activities.
Optional Add-On Experiences
Blue Safari also offers optional experiences such as a champagne moment during the dive, an underwater lunch on the BS600, or even a small wedding ceremony beneath the sea. These add-ons are simple, memorable touches that are always handled with safety and comfort in mind.
